What is Chiropractic Rehab?

Chiropractic Rehab is a philosophy that focuses on "stuck joints" and tight/weak muscles, ligaments, and tendons.

"Stuck joints" are joints in the body that are restricted from their normal range of movement. We utilize chiropractic joint manipulation and joint mobilizations to help restore that normal range of movement. There is often a "crack" or "pop" involved, which is termed a cavitation in the literature. This is normal as well; it is merely gas separating from the fluid in your joint for a fraction of a second. Some may think that sound has therapeutic value, but current research does not support that. Chiropractic manipulation and joint mobilization are powerful tools to help with stuck joints, arthritis, nerve compression, and many other musculoskeletal conditions. Some believe that "spinal alignment" is the cause of these issues and that aligning the spine creates a flow of energy; we do not see it that way. We see it as restricted movement in the spine and joints that creates pain and dysfunction.

Tight/weak muscles, ligaments, and tendons are just what you think: tight and/or weak. They are tight and often painful for a number of reasons, including but not limited to overuse (fatigue), underuse (atrophy), trauma, strain, etc. Muscles specifically give our joints and bones stability. Often, when our joints are restricted ("stuck"), they cause our muscles to tighten in order to stabilize areas they sense as dysfunctional. This can lead to all sorts of problems like fatigued (weak) muscles and muscles taking on jobs for others that have become fatigued. It creates a cascade of symptoms and discomfort. Thus, we need to stretch those areas with prescriptive active (you do it) and passive (I help you do it) muscle lengthening (stretching). A critical difference here is that we ramp up the three key factors in stretching: frequency (how often), duration (how long), and intensity (how much). Everyone can stretch; we do it every day (We recommend it!).

We offer specific treatment plans and protocols to fit your dysfunction and discomfort. No two patients are the same, and their care shouldn't be either.

Chiropractic Rehab (Reset • Rebuild • Reload)

1. RESET (Restore)

This is the initial phase focused on calming pain and improving movement. We use chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and hands-on care to reduce tension, improve joint mobility, and ease irritation in the nervous system.

2. REBUILD (Re-educate)

Once pain is reduced, we focus on helping your body maintain those improvements. This phase includes simple corrective exercises, movement guidance, and practical habit changes to prevent old patterns from returning. We further utilize chiropractic adjustment during this phase to reinforce spinal integrity and function.

3. RELOAD (Build resilience)

The final phase focuses on rebuilding strength and durability. Through progressive exercises and "tune up" chiropractic adjustments, we help your body become more resilient so you can move better and reduce the risk of future flare-ups.
